on to long island for the td waterhouse tourney, last warmup for usopen and some of the biggies have decided to take the week off. looks like a bit of an unusual schedule, as far as i can tell, 6 first round matches on monday followed by 10 on tuesday.

don't see much to like much from the monday selection but a couple of tuesday matches are on the board and might jump early as don't see prices moving my way

for monday, with no real doggy dogs meeting my criteria, i'm using a fave parlay of el aynaoui/beck pays abouut -120 on the combo and,

keifer -110 over mathieu, both of these guys have been a bit erratic lately mathieu has won last 2 first rd matches only to get whooped in the 2nd rd. keifer went deep into the los angeles tournament but was beaten in his next attemptin qualifying (at cincinnati) hoping the west coast form returns for him on the east coast. he is the better hard ct player and has beaten better players on this surface lately.

going tuesday

- sargsian +115 over corretja, this is a bit scary because its one of those matches that the price seems to be way off (by my numbers and 3 other indipendent ratings that all agree) sarg should be somewhere around -140ish

- saretta even$ over costa, been using saretta quite a bit lately ands ticking by him here, he's in good form and probably should be favorite here based on current play.

- vicente +105 over o. rochus, rochus had a nice wimbledon, then played a couple clay tournaments and was knocked out early, hasn't played a hard ct tournament in the summer season. i have vicente rated the better player on hard ct, despite his 1st rd losses in each of his last 2 attempts. those were both to stronger players than rochus and expecting vicente to make some ammends here.

Mike Chang is playing well right now, by well I mean better than the prices he has been getting, he crushed fleishman and played an underrated arazi tough, also played well vs Flip.

good first round 3-1 (will count the costa retirement a - no action - since i didn't specify 'ball served')

don't like anything today, will be looking at sargsian again tomorrow i think. hopefully he comes with a nice price.

MJ, Nice job again. It would help some posters out if you post where you are playing each play because of the new rules. I happened to play it at 5dimes because they had the best price. Also that way you don't need to track differently. GREAT JOB again. I don't know what your Risk/return ratio(a true measure of how good a capper you are) is lately but it has to be extemely high with all the dogs you play.

jwd, most times i do post where i play the pick and if i'm playing because i think a guy may retire i certainly try to mention that. been on an obsenely good run so return ratio has been very high you are right. dunno if that can continue, i believe that tennis is beatable over the long term at higher rate than other sports perhaps 10-12% on turnover is not an unreasonable goal.

ok, i am going to go ahead with sargsian again for today,he has made me money all year so its tough for me not to keep on backing him. not sure why he always seems to be getting a nice overlay. in this case i made the line around srichi - 140to -150 and it opened around -220 and after a brief initial dip has been increasing. srichiphan is the defending champ here, but last year, after that run that one would have though would give him momentum into the open, he was bounced in the 2nd rd there. so perhaps he'll be thinking like some of the other guys seem to be that a few tuneup matches good, going to the final here might not be.

so we're going against the tide for now. keep an eye on the lines carib hasn't moved at all and is still +195 on sarg, you can get +235 now at pinn. or

+230 5dimes which is my choice, for now, will look for more if can get it.
